Si lo puedes soñar, lo puedes lograr. If you can dream it, you can do it.

Wednesday, November 12th, we arrived to the local elementary school of Choachi with buckets of paint, ready to dream up a mural. Inviting the kids to help (along with three muralists), we filled the front entrance to the school with splashes of colors and designs. The youngest of course dove right in, splattering paint from one end to the other, including themselves. Leaving the paintbrushes aside and without being afraid of being covered head to toe in paint, they used their hands to help create this masterpiece, while we watched biting our nails wondering how their mothers would react when they’d arrive home. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say the end result was worth it.
With smiles on their faces, each kid had the chance to make their own addition to the wall, while the muralists simply made sense of their splattering efforts. At the end of the day, the mural read its message, “Si lo puedes soñar, lo puedes lograr,” a famous quote from Walt Disney. We hope the kids enter their school each day, read this message, and carry it with them each day, remembering their possibilities are endless. We want them to know their capabilities and believe in them, but most importantly, dream the impossible.
