Core Values
Faith
"Faith is a bird that feels dawn breaking and sings while it is still dark"
- Rabindranath Tagore
Without faith, nothing is possible. It is necessary to have faith in our work, faith in our intentions and faith in those around us. When working with the communities we always look for ways to encourage them to believe in themselves, to have hope in their dreams and to know that anything can be accomplished if they only put their minds to it.
Friendship
"Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend"
- Albert Camus
Friendship means equality in relationships - that each party has something of equal value to bring to the table. We always strive to make our activities as inclusive as possible, seeking to create learning environments that allow for the student to become the teacher and the teacher to become the student.
Fun
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all"
- Helen Keller
We believe that fun enhances learning. When people enjoy what they are doing, they are more open to continued education. We favor hands-on learning approaches that allow participants to become more actively involved. Games and the creative arts have the potential to make even the dullest of subjects come alive.
How do our beliefs influence our actions?
