We are currently working with two very different communities in the rural area surrounding Bogotá. Each is unique in its environment, history and culture, and therefore, also in its needs. Below you will find a brief comparison of the communities, and if you click on each, a more detailed synopsis of the work we are doing with them.

Quininí

- 2.5 hours from Bogotá by car

- Coffee farmers

- Warm climate

- Panche indigenous heritage 

- Tourist attractions include the Quininí nature

   reserve, rock carvings, caves & coffee farm

   visits with options for camping & farm stays.

- Projects we support include training &

  assistance with community-based tourism

  development, cultural exchange workshops,

  English classes, volunteer recruitment & 

  help with programming activities for the  

  Inheritors of the Mountain youth club.

Aguadulce

- 40 minutes from Bogotá by car or bus

- Dairy & potato farmers

- Cold climate

- Muisca indigenous heritage

- Tourist attractions include hikes through the

  cloud forest/páramo ecosystems, colonial trails,

  waterfalls, rock paintings & farm stalls.

- Projects we support include training &

  assistance for community-based tourism

  development, English classes for students,

  teachers & tour guides, extracurricular activities

  at the school & support for small business  

  development.
